"If at first you don't succeed....

...try try again....and again." Ok. you know how I'm obsessed with initials, right? And you remember how I was inspired by my binder-o-inspiration & I put all our our initials on the wall in our living room? This picture below was the original result. Cute? Cute-ish.

BUT, as all crafty diy'ers do, I got bored of it. So, I thought I would experiment with the supplies I had on hand and change it up a bit. The picture below is the result.

BUT, something wasn't right. I didn't LOVE it, you know? It seemed dark and dull, and well, not done! SO, I tried tried again, and the below picture is the result. Love? Love.

I ended up using my cream burlap instead of the beige burlap to brighten things up a bit. I also painted the fringed edges turquoise to add a subtle pop of color. I like it. I think. Ha ha, ok, I like it (for now). Someday I will get bored again I'm sure, but for now these are a-ok :) (AAarrrg. I have had a super stiff neck going on 3 days now. It is seriously uncomfortable and inhibiting my craftiness. Beat it stiff neck, Geez!!!)

Eye Candy all wrapped up :)

I packaged up some pom poms for my Etsy shop, yay! I "borrowed" the idea from Annie over at Peppermint Plum (go check out her blog -it's absolutely wonderful) and used some fancied up mason jars to package my pom poms :) Just wanted to share!

Happy hump day people (that's what we used to call Wednesday when I worked in an office. Just had to get over the hump and you'd be at the end of the work week).

Eye Candy

Just thought I'd share my sweet pom-poms with you! So bright and cheery, I almost can't stand it! Look out for some fun color combos popping up in my Etsy shop soon (but I'm definitely keepin' this pretty for myself).

Messin' with Moss

Moss. Moss. Moss is everywhere in blogland right now. A Dollar Tree store recently opened up in my neighborhood, yay! And, they have moss. Moss + Dollar Tree = time to experiment :)

(The little chalkboard is from Michael's for like $2 and the just ribbon is from WalMart for like $1.50).

The first step was to pop the back out of the $1 frame. I fired up my glue gun and got to work.

Basically I just started gluing it on. I did the first layer sort of sparse because I knew I could add more as I needed to.

After the frame was totally covered in moss, I put the back of the frame back in without the glass.

I originally wanted to cover the chalkboard frame in moss too to make it extra plush, but I didn't end up having enough in my $1 bag-o-moss. So, I painted the chalkboard frame black in an effort to keep it looking clean and pretty. I glued it to the inside of the frame with my glue gun. I then added a bow to hang it and whallah! Here she is :)

I hung her up in my kitchen above the gold memory board I made long ago and I think it looks cute. Although, I recently mentioned to a friend that I really don't want my home to look "glue-gunned together" and I fear this type of craft may not be helping me in that mission. What do you think?? Too crafty??? The jury is out. I think it's pretty, but I'm not sure if it's true love yet.I'll live with her for a while to see if she blends in well enough with our decor. For now, I'm in "like" with it :) Happy Sunday!

Going....going.......gone.

It's official people, I have gone to the dark side. First some yo-yos and now on to pom-poms. I think I might be turning into a 90 year old lady, ha ha! As usual.....stay tuned :)
