The BIG reveal!!!

Psyche! Ha ha! Did I sucker you in with that title?! This reveal is anything but BIG, but hey, at least my crafty juices are flowin' a little. Since you're already here, you may as well keep reading! I got these pails for $2.50 each at Target. Loved the color, but they needed some pizazz.
I used some blue painters tape to make some rectangles (ooooooh, ahhhhhhhhhh).
I found this little bottle of chalkboard paint in the craft section at WalMart. So handy!

I also wanted to paint a heart chalkboard on the jar that we use for our loose change. To be honest, it wasn't coating well at first and I was worried that this project was a bust.

It took like a zillion coats (ok, maybe like 5). It was worth it though because now I have awesome chalkboard labels (again. oooooooh ahhhhhhhhh). We recently (yesterday) inherited an unwanted bookcase from my sis in law and decided to add it to the "garage sale ensemble" that we have going on in Noah's room. Nothing matches (finish or scale), but at this point, it's all about storage. We got rid of his huge toy chest that was like the Bermuda triangle for toys and have a much better system now. Like I said, it's totally mis-matchy, but it works (& let's be honest, do boys really care??)
This is an attempt to corral some of the boy clutter. This may not last long though, after I took the picture, we found like 10 more balls that need to go in there. But, the joy of chalkboard labels is that you can erase!

And here are all of our nickels, dimes, and pennies. When the jar fills up, we'll take it to the bank (or the coinstar machine in WalMart.....way too lazy to roll coins. WAY).
Ok. That's it for today. It's all I can muster. Ha ha. Now for some snacks and tv while the little ones nap. Even in a crafty slump, life is sweet!!!

Trying to find my groove

Movin' kinda slow over here this week. I'm kind of in a weird craft/DIY rut at the moment. There is some awkwardness for me during the "after Valentine's Day/Before Easter (& not much of a St.Patty's Day girl)" and it has thrown me a bit. It's definitely time to revamp and refresh, but I'm feeling a bit blah and lazy. Everyone else seems to be nice and productive though, so there's no shortage of bloggy eye candy out there to browse. I messed around with these turquoise buckets today (reveal to come tomorrow).....and that's about it. Hopefully tomorrow I'll find my groove and get back to "work." Happy crafting people!!!!

Happy V-Day People!

I woke up to these beauties from my husband this morning. Yay! This is major since the hubby is not so much of a buy-the-girl-flowers kind of guy (thanks babe).

I picked up this sweet swan at the flea market yesterday. I know what you're thinking. "What is this crazy girl going to do with all of these tacky swans??" My answer to you is "Oh don't worry, I'll think of something!" Happy Valentine's Day to all of my wonderful bloggy friends! My hubby is at the fire station today so it's just me and the kiddos on this lovely day. Tonight I will feast on cereal and toast (breakfast for dinner is my fave when I have to fend for myself). Feelin' the love today and everyday! Muah!

Wow!!!!

Another award for little 'ol me, YAY!!!! Kelly from Kelly is Inspired passed along this award to me and I am so so happy! Being versatile is awesome, but being stylish AND versatile is even better!!! Thanks Kelly :)

Here are 7 more tid bits about yours truly:

1. I'm not a morning person or a night owl. I think I'm an evening person.

2. I really really want to learn to sew but am a bit nervous. I know once I get going I'll get hooked. I think I have performance anxiety.

3. I never took the SATs because for one, I knew I was going to community college before I went to a 4-year school. For two, I never wanted to know what I would get.

4. I am Emetophobic (I just looked up that fancy term). I have a phobia of vomit. Myself doing it, others doing it around me. I'm terrified of it. It's definitely more than your standard "eew, gross" dislike. I literally freak out at the thought of it. Even intense coughing, gagging, or burping is unsettling to me. It's totally irrational I know, but that's what phobias are...irrational fears. Anyway, I definitely want to get hypnosis or something down the road. This is all a bit embarrassing to admit, but hey, everyone has at least one weird thing and this is mine.

5. I'm the mom that yells. We were at a b-day party the other day and there was a seriously unsafe pinata session happening. Baseball bats swinging super close to kids heads and all. I was yelling at everyone. Kids, parents, people passing by. It was not pretty. I need to work on this.

6. I love tv.

7. I am very productive when I want to be, but I can also very easily fall into being a lazy couch-potato.

Well, that's it. My second set of "7 things."
Thanks again for the award Kelly, I really appreciate it :)

Two new cuties....

I added these 2 new cuties to my Etsy shop today. Ummmm. Yeah. I guess after looking at them, you could say that these are two things that I want to buy......the jury is still out on Etsy-land wanting to buy them too. Ha ha. We'll see :)

(I gave my hubby "the key to my heart" back when we were dating and we have been together for almost 13 years now. The actual key that I gave him for his key chain was kind of lame looking, so I think it needs an upgrade. My heart is SUPER stylish and should be represented as such!)

SO honored!!!

WOW!!!!!!! I'm So excited!! Tara over at Lauren Lane Decor just gave me the "Versatile Blogger Award!" YAY! I've never won an award in blog land before and I am thrilled that my first is for being versatile. It's such a compliment! I think the rules are, I have to tell you 7 facts about me, and then pass this awesome award on to 7 versatile bloggers! Here goes:

7 facts about little 'ol me:

1. I was born and raised in Laguna Beach California. I have traveled all over the world and still find it to be the most beautiful place on Earth!

2. My favorite flowers are pink peonies, lily of the valley, and rannunculas (sorry about that crazy spelling).

3. I think about shopping ALL THE TIME. No joke. It is always on my mind. Thrifting, flea markets, the mall. I can find something to buy anywhere I go. BUT, since the budget often doesn't allow, I have to fight this strong urge on a regular basis.

4. I wear a white ribbed tank top pretty much every day. It's my go-to layering piece and to be honest, I feel naked without it.

5. I'm a tummy sleeper, so both times that I was pregnant, I was in misery.

6. Oprah bugs me. Don't judge me for this. It's just how I feel. She bugs majorly!

7. Hmmm, this 7th one is tricky. Let's see.....I guess the last thing I would like you all to know about me is that I am a very loyal friend. You can say a lot of things about me, but flaky is definitely not one of them. I enjoy maintaining my relationships and I genuinely love and care for all of my friends. It is a characteristic that I take pride in (and unfortunately it makes me feel even more annoyed when people flake on me).

Ok, I'm passing this award on to these versatile blogs:

Smart-bottom Enterprises
Primitive & Proper
Serendipity Chic Design
Rubie's Place
Second Time Furniture
Inspired by Charm
Pouty Pink Princess

(My linky thing is giving me problems so you can find all of these FABULOUS blogs on my side-bar. Go check 'em out people!!)

YAY for awards!!!
