R u in SoCal???

Happy happy Tuesday everyone!!! If any of my lovely reader are from SoCal (I know some of you are), PLEASE consider coming to Old Towne Orange to attend this awesome flea market/holiday boutique that my friend is putting on in her front yard. It is going to be awesome!!! PLUS - 10% of the sales will be going to help out the victims of the tragic Seal beach Salon shooting that happened recently (for those of you non-local peeps, an ex husband of one of the hair stylists after going to court over the custody of their kids came in to the salon one day and literally shot the place up. He killed a lot of people. Some were hair stylists, others were innocent people simply getting their hair done. It was a horrible horrible tragedy and makes me sick to my stomach just thinking about it).
Here is the flyer for the boutique:
PLEASE come by and say hi if you have some time. I am bringing a lot of my Etsy shop inventory as well as some fun flea market finds and some furniture pieces. It should be a GREAT day!!

I also wanted to share some pics with you of a new item coming to my Etsy shop (I am seriously in love with these...they make me feel so happy when I look at them). Take a look.....

Aren't they FUN!!?? Hee hee, they make me smile :)

Pom poms = HAPPINESS to meeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Yay!
Ok, that's all :)

Jumping the {X-mas} gun...

O.k.
I fought the urge as long as I could but I couldn't fight it any longer. I Christmas crafted!! I know I have already been Christmas crafting for Etsy, but I went and did it for my home. YES I know it is only mid-November. I KNOW! But I couldn't help myself and I-BLAME-PINTREST! My crazy premature Christmas crafting occurred because I saw THIS:
I KNOW!!! I KNOW!!! Amazing! I instantly fell in love! I am a pom-pom lover so this wreath had to be mine! No other choice! Mine - mine - mine!

Here's what I did to make my own :)
First I made about a gazillion pom poms. No joke, I have a claw for a hand (totally worth it btw).
Next I bought this wire wreath form from Michael's for $2.24

Then, I started tying on the pom poms one by one.
front:
Back:
And then I repeated this process like a gazillion times :)
I didn't have the fabulous metal light reflector flower thingys that were in the inspiration wreath so I had to improvise. My go-to material, as many of you already know, is glitter card stock. No-brainer really!

Step one: cut circle out of glitter card stock...
Step 2: cut slits in circle...
and then more slits...
Step 3: Do the same thing to a smaller circle...
Once all the slits are cut in both circles, you need to use an exacto to cut a star shape in the center of each circle...
After this is done, it's time to thread the mini-pom pom :)
Layer the 2 paper flowers together and BAM! Flower power :)
Ok...enough of this tutorial nonsense. Do you wanna see it!!???

LOOK at this!!!

!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BIGGER picture??

Are you dying from picture-mania yet?? NO?? Ok, good.

Keepin' it real moment?? As you can see below, it doesn't quite fit in well with my simple Fall decor. It may have to come down until after Turkey Day.
I have a feeling that this pom pom magic is going to set the tone for Ali-Xmas-2011! Oh yeah baby!!! I hope you like it (and I totally get it if it isn't quite "you" but is OH so me!!)
Happy Day to you all!

Friday's Etsy Faves

Happy Happy Friday, Happy Happy Veteran's Day (Thanks Vets!), and Happy Happy 11/11/11!!
Here are my Etsy Faves from this week :)

First on my list today is this GORGEOUS circle scarf from Bark Decor:
Here's another pic of it....
I love the print and how easy it looks to wear! Definitely on my Xmas list :)

Next up today is this gorgeous art print of beautiful California by The Wheatfield. Katie Daisy is the amazing artist behind The Wheatfield and you can find her work at places like Target in the gift bag/notecard section. She's BIG time!!!

I have been on the hunt for some pretty colored vintage Christmas ornaments and I came across theses giant bright pink ones from Second Hand Rose. These would look SO pretty on my tree, or strung up in Hayden's room! Shiny and pink - what's not to LOVE?!

The last thing I am loving today is the newest kid kit in my sister-in-law's shop, Smart Bottom Kids. This new ornament banner is SO sparkly and SO beautiful! If you are looking for a fun, easy, and beautiful craft to do with your family, look no further!!!!

Just look at all of this sparkly goodness!!
"Quality Time Made Simpler!!"

So, that's it for today folks. Have a GREAT weekend!!

Shameless plug and some randomness

Hi there!! Just wanted to pop in to show you a few new things happening in my shop :)

Shop till you drop, k!!??

I've also been doing some personal crafting lately..... Pom poms = LOVE. Can't wait to finish up so I can show it off. I plan for it to be AMAZING!!! Ha ha :)
Our countdown has officially begun....
And I have been working harder on making more magical moments with these two....
I have a tendency to get caught up in running errands, crafting, chores etc. This means that the kids end up either being dragged around from place to place or are forced to entertain themselves. This is definitely a good skill to have of course, but they definitely need some fun mommy moments too. Just trying to keep it all in balance :)

Happy hump day everyone :)

...and this????
Well folks, the reveal is ready!! The only catch is that you can't see it here. You must go HERE to view the awesomeness that is Oliver's crib!!!! GO!! NOW!!! Woohoo (SO glad it's done btw, darn you spindles!)
Happy day to you :)

Friday's Etsy Faves

It's a happy gloomy rainy day here in SoCal. I have my cinnamon candle lit and it is filling my home with the yummiest smells. Mmmmmmm. Can you smell it?? No?? Oh, well then go to WalMart and buy your own candle. Geez. Ha ha!

Ok, on to my faves for this week :)
First up, I am in love with this ikat letter press card from wild ink press

Next on my list is the gorgeous quatrefoil necklace from Jenni Jewel. Isn't is perfect!? SO pretty!
I am also loving this sweet little owl pin from Moloco . This little guy would look super cute on a winter coat or slouchy purse :)

Next on my list are these adorable personalized note cards from Fiona designs. I love these!!
And finally, a fave for my sweet Hayden. She would kill me with her adorableness if she wore this sweet Madeline tutu from Whimsy Ranch. Seriously??! SO cute!
That's it from me today people. I'll be here all cozy and warm in my house (until I have to go out and pick up Noah from school and brave the grocery store with BOTH of my bratty kids. Ha ha, serenity now!).
