Opinions pa-lease etc.

Hello everyone! Happy hump day :)
I have finally loaded up my Etsy shop with spooky goodies so if you are looking to spruce up your haunted house, head on over and shop till you drop!!
The latest addition (back by popular demand) are the book page spider medallions...

I was worried that I wouldn't be able to make these this year because I couldn't find these particular spiders/webs anywhere. Luckily, my girl Cassie came through and sent some my way. Phew! Close one!!

Now, for a vote. Opinions pa-lease!
My signature Halloween/Fall decor for the last few years has been my painted pumpkins...

As you know, aqua is my go-to color for all holidays.
As most diyers/bloggers do, I'm tempted to change them up a bit. My hubby wants me to leave them alone and loves them as is, but I am totally torn. Truth, I don't really feel like re-painting them. Lazy. But is having the same thing year after year a bore? Am I just rambling? I don't know. Thoughts? Haha!! Heeeellllp.

  1. Welllll I do love yours, but I hear ya on being bored with them. I loved the ones wrapped with lace on Pinterest, maybe do something easy besides painting them?

  2. you know me- i'd change those suckers faster than you can say spray paint! with your black and white striped chair now i think a black and white scheme would be supercool!!!!!

  3. I love your pumpkins the way they are....why not just add some colorful leaves around them? You can get pretty realistic looking leaves nowadays.

  4. The witch pumpkin is super cute! I'm with Cassie I'd probably paint them as well. After a few years those babies are probably eager for a makeover too :) *chants* paint them...paint them!

  5. I love them the way they are. And just think, if you are super sick of them next year, paint them then!

  6. I say if you get the urge to redo them, then do it! If you don't feel like it, don't. :) They are way cute now, but I'm sure they'd look just as good if you changed them up.

  7. I love them the way they are, and lets be honest, if Josh actually "likes" something, you should probably leave them alone this year. BUT, you could always go in and add to them a little bit. Maybe some gold dots/stripes/details to add to what is already there? Or something..!? Just saying. xo xo

  11. Those are so fun Ali! I love them. Maybe leave those and add a few new ones to your collection?

  12. I'm with Josh and Renee. I'd spend the extra time making something else so your Halloween decoration inventory gets BIGGER & BIGGER every year! Besides, there's something to be said for traditional family decorations that the kids recognize every year. And, yes, if Josh "loves" them as you said, that's reason enough to put your decorating energy elsewhere (said Josh's mom)!

  13. Not a bore. This is my first year doing something different, and it's due in part to blogging and the fact that no one wants to carry up all my bins.

  15. Such cute pumpkins, but I know no matter what you do, it'll be awesome! Can't wait to see the reveal...

I will say I feel like seeing all the wonderful ideas on blogs makes me want to change things frequently, for better or worse. But when I think back to the holidays as a kid, I LOVED pulling out the same decorations, and even looked forward to that. So I just have to remember to keep a balance of new/changing decorations and having certain beloved decorations year-and-year-out for Jacob.

Speaking of decorations that we love...Jacob has an early release day tomorrow so we'll be spending the afternoon decorating for fall and Halloween...and we can't wait to pull out your spider book page medallions! :)
