Done and done!

I finished up my last few projects for the flea market today. All that is left to do is carefully pack up the small stuff, load it all up in the truck, and SELL it!! Ha ha! I am definitely looking forward to doing it, but I'm also looking forward for it to be over :)

Here is the before shot of a coffee table my sister bought a while back. She got it for $15 which was a great deal, but it was a little bit damaged on the edge. Hmmmm, what to do??

I thought this would be a good project to try out Kwikwood for the first time. A lot of people have had great success with this product, so I thought I would give it a try.

Well, unfortunately, I didn't have success using it. My hubby said it was because there wasn't enough surface area for the kwikwood to bond to. Who knows!! It never really hardened, even after waiting for 3 days. Then, when I felt like it might be hard enough to paint, I was able to just pull it off with my fingers. Annoying. So, my sweet hubby cut the entire rim off for me. It definitely made the piece a bit less elegant looking on the top, but it was the best we could do under the circumstances. Here is the after shot (sorry about the glare on the top).

Another project I finished up was another one of my sister's pieces. It's the chair that came free with a desk she bought for herself on Craig's List. It got a nice coat of gray spray paint, and a pretty hounds tooth seat :)

Fresh and ready to be SOLD!! Ha ha!

Finally, a simple makeover on a pair of nightstands to match the girly desk I did previously. Simple, clean, white, and refreshed. I don't have a before pic, but they were the standard cream with gold detail. Blah.

Mark my words. I will not paint, stain, poly, wax, mod podge, or staple gun anything else for the flea market! Ha ha. ALL DONE!
Happy Friday :)

We better sell stuff!

We better sell some stuff at the flea, because there is NO way my hubby is going to let me keep all of this!!!!

Ha ha! Doesn't it look crazy!? SO many projects getting finished at the last minute. It's madness!!! I finished 2 today. First one done, I refinished my grandma's rocking chair.

After:

It's hard to tell because of the glare, but it is now a pretty Paris black with light distressing on the edges. WAY better than before I think!

Second was one of my sister's projects. She's in the beginning of her pregnancy and at the end of her bout with Shingles, so she happily passed along some of her projects to me. Here's the before pic of her Queen Anne style chair:

Here is the after:

She's now refreshed and ready for a new home!!!
That's all for today :)
Happy "hump" day people!!

Final push for the Flea :)

Happy Tuesday!!!
Well, this is the final week of prep before the flea market. We have never gotten a booth at the flea before so I am both excited and nervous about how it will all turn out (fingers crossed that we sell sell sell). So, this week you will most likely find me out in my front yard finishing up some last minute projects or in the garage tagging my stuff. Down to the wire for sure!

Yesterday we spent the day outside and it was a beautiful sunny day. The kids kept busy by "washing" my car (look at Hayden's face...she's concentrating).
These really pretty planes kept flying low and doing tricks over our house which made it extra exciting for the kiddos.
Oh, and check out Hayden's choice for summer footwear. Ha ha! ONLY to be worn around the house :)
Ok, back to project mania. My mom had these hideous old-school serving trays in the goodwill pile. These definitely belonged in the donate pile in their original condition. BUT, give me a few minutes and BAM! Revamped into something sell able :)

BEFORE:

First one AFTER:

Some triangles cut out of pages from my thrift store atlas, a sharpie, some grey spray paint, mod podge, and spray poly did the trick :)
Second one AFTER:

Hopefully these guys will find new happy homes at the flea!

The other project I finished up was this:

I sprayed the chicken wire gold for that extra glam look. This pic above is me in kindergarten, and below is my mom, grandma, and great aunt "back in the day" enjoying some dessert.

Ok, gotta get back to work now :) Have a great day people!!

Straight from my dreams...

Straight from my dreams to my house. I-am-in-LOVE!

By far the best $6.99 I have ever spent. Thank you Trader Joe's. Thank you!
Happy Monday people!!

Not new, just put to good use :)

Happy Thursday everyone :)
I don't have anything major to share over here, but I did want to show you my new charm necklaces that I made for my Etsy shop. Back when I started out on Etsy, I sold charm necklaces that were similar to the ones I sell now, but a bit different. And, because I am a supply hoarder by nature, I still have a ton of charms and beads left over from that time. Yesterday I got inspired and just starting "throwin' stuff together" ha ha!!! Here is what I ended up with (these guys are one-of-a-kind considering my leftover supply stash is random and in limited quantities).

and of course I used the highboy in the photo shoot :)

They're a little bit random and mismatched, but a nice change from my usual stuff. Likey???
Hope so :)

I also wanted to share a pic of my "new" mirror. For our wedding, Josh and I got a beautiful mirror from Crate & Barrel. Well, to make a long story short, when Josh and I moved out of our condo 2 years ago, my mom moved in. We ended up leaving the mirror over the mantle so she could use it. My mom recently moved and we got the mirror back :)

We put it to the right of the front door so we can make sure we look our best as we leave home. I'm happy to have it back :)
Hang in there peeps, it's almost Friday!

I {heart} shells

I'm pairing things down over here a bit - simple, clean, pretty, Summer. That's what I have in mind. Because I live so close to beach (probably like 2 miles or so), shells & sea stars fit in perfectly in my beachy home. I don't want to go too overboard, but little touches here and there really make it feel like Summer.

This is where my pretty finger sea stars ended up (away from little hands, ha ha).

That cool blue shell I got a Ross Dress For Less a little while ago, and the tall white bottle was on clearance at Michael's a while back. It says "DREAM" on the other side, but I like the cleaner look of the plain side. I got that white finial thingy at goodwill but it was an ugly dark pewter-ish color. I sprayed it cream and freshened it up a bit.
I have some shells on my coffee table too (& did you notice, I decided to keep the round coffee table. I just loved it too much to sell it), and notice Sebastian the Swan taking center stage. {LOVE}. (Thanks Cassie)

I have some shells on my dining table too. Simple & chic (if I do say so myself, ha ha)

And lastly, I have a few little glass jars of shells sitting on my shabby chic "tampon storage" in my bathroom :)

Clean. Simple. Pretty. SUMMER!!!!!
Happy Tuesday :)
