What do you do??

What do you do when you find a duplicate swan at Godwill for $3 and can't stand leaving it in the store for someone else to buy?? If your answer was spray paint it turquoise, you're right!!! And, if you thought I would want to sell it in my Etsy shop, you would be right. BUT, if you watched the wind knock it over as it was drying and leave the back all scuffed up, you would realize that it was meant to be mine and tell me to keep it. Wouldn't you??!?

AND, what do you do if you got this cute little divided tray at Micahel's for $4, but the light blue just didn't quite "go" with all of the bright turquoise in your life?? If your answer was spray paint the outside of it white and leave the light blue inside, you'd be right :)

I picture it filled with shells and starfish this summer...{dreamy}. Ok. that's enough of my rambling for today :)

Yarn Wreaths & Thrifty Finds

Yarn Wreaths = a LOVE/HATE relationship. I finally finished embellishing my two wreaths and with only one minor glue gun burn on my finger, I think they came out pretty cute. I had a few oops along the way (& trust me when I tell you, once you hot glue something on to a yarn wreath, it's pretty much there to stay). Well people, here they are in all their glory:

This first one is now living in my kitchen. Like? Like. You know how I love initials :)

Here's the big picture for you. A bit asymmetrical, but I think it works ok.
The second one ended up in Hayden's room. All of our walls in our house are beige except in Hayden's room where they are a light pink. The cream wreath blended in too much in the rest of the house, so I girlified it for baby girl's room (& yes I am one of those people that think leopard print is a neutral).
Silk flowers, pearl brads, & a giant cameo. Yummy!
Subtle. Girly. Pretty.
Now on to my recent thrifty find favorite - my 2 pint jug. Isn't it awesome!?!?
I got it for $3 and am in love with it :)
And at this point, I may as well call it swanning, not thrifting. Every time I go out, I find one (or more) of these little guys and I can't leave them in the store (correction, I CAN leave the ones with the porcelain flowers wearing straw hats in the store, I'm not a total swan loon). I have already found places for most of them, and the larger one made it's way to my Etsy shop. I feel a bit guilty selling him, but he will be more appreciated in a home that is un-swanned. Ha ha! Happy Day people!

It's official!

It's official, Bloggy friends are THE BEST!!! I got the sweetest package in the mail today from Andi at Jane of All Crafts. SO stinkin' adorable!! She saw this little silver swan while out thrifting and thought of me. Plus, she added in a few extra cuties. YAY!
How sweet does this little swan look holding my rings. Perfect for when I'm in the shower or doing dishes (ok...well, in the shower anyway, ha ha). I love it! I can't decide if I want to keep him in his well-loved antique finish, or spiff him up with some spray paint. We'll see.
She also sent this A-dorable silver swan charm. I mean c'mon, could this BE any more perfect for me (if you watch FRIENDS, then you heard that last phrase in Chandler's voice, ha ha)!?
And look at these other 2 cuties. The sweetest cupcake on the planet and the most adorable little owl magnet made on a scrabble tile. I'm seriously so thrilled that these little guys are all mine :)THANK YOU ANDI!!! You rock, like majorly!!!
So, here's your challenge people - if you have made close bloggy friends and you know what they love, send some their way. It feels so unbelievable to have awesome friends all over the world that are thoughtful and sweet and were thinking of me. Random acts of sweetness are THE BEST!
Do it! Ha ha, we'll call it Blog-buddy-thrifting :)
