Done....ish

Hi there! Well, I still feel a bit like a chicken with my head cut off, but I'm slowly making progress. I think I need to take a minute, tidy up my house, fold some laudry, and then I can get back to project mania. I have managed to "complete" one today. I put the word "complete" in quotes because I am as done as I can be for now. Confused?? Take a look:

This little sliver of wall in the hall between the kid's rooms got a "wall treatment" so to speak. The reason it is only done-ish, is because I am all out of frames. I have been shopping my house, scouring thrift shops, and cleaning out my local dollar tree of frames. I am sick of frames! So, I'll live with the holes for now and continue to collect frames as I go. Ultimately I would like them to go up to the ceiling and down to the floor.

But, that will have to wait until I peacefully stumble upon more frames (and not frantically run around town searching for them....seriosuly. I'm a freak). Overall, I like it. I wanted them to just sort of be there, be clean and simple and sort of be like elaborate moulding or something. Honestly, I don't know. This project was like a snowball rolling down a hill. I'm definitely not done done, but like I said, I'm done for now. Like or loathe?? Be honest, I can take it!

Some tips if you decide to tackle an (annoying) project like this:
1. Don't
2. become best friends with your level.
3. Buy a ton of saw-tooth hangers
4. Use 2 saw-tooth hangers per frame, not one. This way they won't move and be all crooked and annoying.
5. You have to spray the back of the frame too to get in the groove where the glass/backing was because you can see that when it's hanging up.
6. Use the same color & brand of spray paint with every frame.
7. Just don't! Trust me on this.

I'm off to clean up my world now. No judgement please, here is the current state of my workspace....ICK.

(I know, I know.....next stop "Hoarders: Buried Alive.")

  3. Wow! WOW! WOW! So cool Ali. I know what you mean...You want to get the whole project done at once for instant results, but it's impossible. I bet now that you aren't going psycho looking for frames, they will start falling into your lap.

    Take care,
    Lisa
